The Sunshine Coast Council has announced the new Sunshine Coast taskforce and digital skill collab with multinational Amazon Web Services (AWS).
As part of the Council’s #SunshineCoast Economic Resurgence Plan they’ve joined forces with seven local business leaders including AWS to establish the taskforce led by Economic Portfolio Councillors Terry Landsberg and Jason O’Pray.
The group will oversee the delivery of council’s 3rd economic stimulus package inc.:
• An updated local procurement policy beefing up support for local companies and their ability to access council contract work.
• Incentive Assistance Program to support shovel-ready and job-creating projects and an increased business responsive culture across council.
• Ongoing fee assistance until 31 October to businesses and support for #popup and temporary use permits or leases to reactivate local retail centres.
• Support for Creative Industries, with a fee waiver for street performers in financial year 2020-21.
