Project Global Citizens

Study Sunshine Coast hosted its second Project Global Citizen workshop with scholars learning more about intercultural differences and how best to navigate across cultures. As part of the 8 week program, scholars from USC, TAFE Queensland and Protea College have been partnered with buddies from different nationalities to better understand cultural dimensions and helping them prepare to work with anyone from anywhere in the world. The scholars journey to cultural competency starts here in this fully subsidised program.

Thirty five enthusiastic Sunshine Coast students were awarded fully subsidised scholarships to participate in the eight-week development program focused on advancing students’ cross-cultural skills to equip them with the tools they need to be employable in any global organisation around the world.

Study Sunshine Coast Strategic Projects Director Marina Murray said, “from our research we understood from students and our education partners the need to assist students develop and evolve their 21st century employability skills to work on the global stage. The Project Global Citizen course does this.

“Project Global Citizen Scholars undertake an 8-week blended learning program that radically improves their cultural competency skills for studying, living and working across cultures as a truly global citizen.

This is the second time Study Sunshine Coast has offered the program to students after being the first region in Queensland to offer the program last year.
