My opportunity to meet international education leaders and share my story…

I was privileged to be able to attend the International Student Leadership Forum 2018 in Brisbane to represent the Sunshine Coast region. I had the chance to meet and work with people from diverse backgrounds to share my experience of being an international student in Queensland. It was a great place to showcase my experience of studying on Sunshine Coast to fellow students in different parts of Queensland.

The highlight of the 2-day-forum was the session about Aboriginal culture, which was very entertaining and informative at the same time. This was very beneficial for international students to gain a deeper understanding about the history of Australia and to show respect for the traditional owners of the land. We also participated in various workshops such as entrepreneurial skills and community development, and brainstormed ideas and initiatives for the international student community. Another highlight was the forum at Parliament House where international students had the opportunity to meet members of Parliament to discuss concerns and ideas to improve the quality of Queensland education and enhance the experience of international students in the region, particularly in regard to academic achievement and social and community life.
