Study Sunshine Coast was delighted to host international delegates last week to showcase why the Sunshine Coast is the ideal destination for students to live, learn and kick start their future.
The delegate group spent two days on the Sunshine Coast visiting various education, industry and tourism businesses.
Delegates received a warm welcome to the Sunshine Coast from our Mayor Mark Jamieson at a networking lunch hosted by Study Sunshine Coast at the Maroochy Surf Club.
“I was delighted to welcome the International Education Delegates to our beautiful Sunshine Coast.
“Our region has become a world-class destination where students from around the world come to study, collaborate, connect and excel.”
“Sunshine Coast Council is proud to work with Study Queensland and Study Sunshine Coast to welcome students from all areas back to our region and to deliver a relevant, exciting, informative student environment that adds value to their learning and living experience.
“Our future on the Sunshine Coast is bright, fulfilling and purposeful and it is my hope that those who choose to study here have the opportunity to ensure their future has similar prospects,” Mayor Mark Jamieson said.
The delegate group toured the University of the Sunshine Coast followed by a panel discussion on “Destination Sunshine Coast” where a number of the premier education and tourism operators in the region were able to share their student and visitor offerings.
Before the end of the day the delegates visited TAFE Queensland Mooloolaba Campus and enjoyed a Maroochydore City Centre Tour hosted by the Sunshine Coast Council and Walker Group.
The regional visit finished with an unforgettable cultural experience and bush tucker onboard the Saltwater Eco Tours. Sunshine Coast Student Ambassadors were also in attendance at the cruise and shared details of their study experiences here in our region.
